November 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Latin Dub Sound System

Will be performing their Dj set @

Camino.

Once again it’s latin dub sound system time. If you were their last time you will remember that Latin Dub played an ecletic mix of latin and dub style music, ranging from all the style’s possible within them two genre’s. Expect heavey beats and heavy bass. Do not expect it to be a strictly Latin night and do not expect it to be a strictly Dub night expect it to be an education in music focusing on Latin Dub. There will also be some accopinament from Conga players as well as guitar and possibly horns.

The venue Camino is also a very cool place located at The Regents QTR just off of Pentoville Road, Kings Cross End.

Cargo Arch1 and Polish deConstruction present:

Cargo Arch1 and Polish deConstruction present:

New exhibition by Justyna Chudinska and Karolina Raczynski

Work about the inspiring properties of landscape and the ways of adding new dimensions to the illusionistic space of a painting and a photograph. Justyna, as an absolvent of Cracow Academy of Fine Arts creates paintings, which exquisite style is a conspiracy between abstraction and realism. Karolina, on the other hand, a student of Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design, adopts double exposure to make each of her photographs flaunt its half-real, half-familiar place.

Contrasting visions of two domains, painting and photography promise new exciting views on the long-established genre.

Latin Dub at Camino in Kings Cross

September 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So here we are again writing about the new music revolution. Great!!!! Latin Dub never lets you down. If you looking for a great night out with music that will get you moving, Latin Dub are the way forward. That is exactly what happend last Friday. When I got to the venue at around 8 p.m. The bar was alredy rammed and dancing had already started. Well you can’t really blame pleople cos when the music is just right, place is cool and whats most important all your friends are there then for sure it’s time to party. LAtin Dub smashed it. DJ set started off with A Lorenzo and The Sea warming the crowd up. To be honest it didn’t take them long. They were busting the groves, and everyone was loving it. Next up the was some live guitar and percusions, the set was nicley finished by an old Skool Salsa/Cumbia set by A-Lito-G. Without going in to too much detail There was lots of tequila, dancing and all together a great friday night. There was one diference this time, it was that I wasn’t suprised. I knew that Latin Dub was going to entertain everyone who showed up to see them and as always they smashed it.

Indios Bravos Review – Cargo – London – 2008

September 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Indios Bravos

What Brilliant night.

I took my boyfriend (who is of Latin American descent) down to check out some Polish Reggae. And as i have been to many Latin gigs over the years of which he has introduced to me, i thought it was about time to repay the favour, as every other polish gig that have ever taken him to, has been very much a pop orientated affair, something of which he has no time for, regardless of what language it is sung in.

Now i have to admit that i, myself am not the greatest fan of reggae, but i am obviously aware of such reggae luminaries as, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh to mention but a few, so, i thought to myself i would give this a shot, and i have to say, the evening was a thouroughly enjoyable one.

The music was great, the vibe, even better and to top it all off, Indios Bravos came out with a fantastic encore of “when the Music is Over” by The Doors. Which trully brought the house down and brought a huge smile to my partner’s face; as it was one of 3 songs he knew. Bless.

Just maybe he will learn enough Polish to sing the blues with me as well.

Indios Bravos – Polish Band, Spanish Name, Reggae Music.

If that is not a revoultuon then nothing is!

Peace
